Video Project
During this project we learned and created documentaries about our subject of choice. My group chose to make a funny and goofy documentary about finding a sasquatch. No we did not find the sasquatch but that’s okay he will be found in the next episode. I was the chief photographer in this project so I handled most of the filming during the project. I learned how to be able to film smoothly as people moved. I also got to practice using the rule of thirds and other windows to put the subject in. Interviewing teachers and students was definitely the most fun because there were some really funny answers. A thing I would have changed would have been to actually have a plan early on in the project. I think the whole project was kind of rushed. We only had three class periods to film and a week to edit. So some of the footage is bad and it doesn’t appear as though we care. Overall I enjoyed the project even though I think I could have made it a lot better had I been given more time.

I think what it really means being a 21st century learner means being punctual and organized and that is something that I did during the project. Also I used some bu not all of the research skills. I should have used more that would have helped me in this project. I felt like my project was very creative and original. If you search a "word art popsicle" on Google. Not a single one will pop up.
I think this project has really helped me prepare for my time at Animas. It showed me how much organization and being on time matters. Why, you might ask? Well because this project was left to the students to plan. I made my schedules, my plans, and everything else. It was fun to get a lot of freedom and to be able to choose what would happen and how it would happen. |
Teacher Creature Project
The Teacher Creature project is probably the most fun I have had on a project all year. I think the only other project to rack up with this one was the Create Your Own Art Project project. I enjoyed the Teacher Creature Project because it gave the artist a lot of freedom while still setting guidelines to follow. During this project I chose my mom to Photoshop because she is a teacher at Animas. I sent her interview questions and then I incorporated what answers she gave me into the project. One the questions was ¨If you could live in the sea what animal would you be.¨ Which explains why there are turtles from Finding Nemo in the background. I really enjoyed this project and had a lot of fun Photoshopping my mom into a confusing where she is an Olympic speed skater swimming with turtles and, yes, Bill Cosby.
Landscape Project
During this project we learned the difference between foreground, midground, and background. We used many new Photoshop tools and skills. We used the quick selection tool a lot during this project. For example all he flowers in this photo were copy and pasted into this picture using the quick selection tool. The sky behind the mountain was definitely the most difficult part of the project. I had to quick select the sky from another photo, feather the edges and then put it in the picture above. I then took the mountain and quick selected that and then copy and pasted another layer over the sky so that the sky would be behind the mountain. It seems simple but it was pretty difficult then. Also to make the flowers the size I used the transform tool. One thing I did to try and make the font easier to read was I added outer glow to it so it would pop out of the picture a little and even be emphasized a little bit.
